Best webcam I've ever had 2010-09-03 Do have a couple of minor quibbles, which is why it fell short of the full 5 stars. First up, the software included has a number of customizations on it (avatars, filters etc) which can be temperamental. At first it couldn't find my face at all and seemed to be fixed on my shoulder, but seems to be ok now. The second is again to do with software, it really doesn't tell you what you're installing. I imagine a lot of people will just assume they need to install the Logitech Vid software which comes with the device, but of course you don't. Most IM clients will provide video calls and be compatible with any webcam these days. Having said that, most CD's included with hardware are guilty of this to some degree. Other than that though, it's awesome! I'm lucky enough to have a decent upload speed of about 256KBps, so there's no trouble in sending the data. Can't say what it'll perform like on a regular connection, though, from other reviews there don't seem to be any major issues. It nicely fits on top of a computer monitor without moving, picture quality is just about perfect (and that's in damn crappy lighting) and it's very easy to use. The included software can auto zoom into your face too (can turn this on/off), and it seems to do that very well. All in all, very happy bunny here!
Excellent no hassle webcam 2010-09-03 Bought this webcam on Amazon at a great price but didnt expect it to be as good as it is. The picture quality is fantastic, operating at 2mb in webcam mode. Makes the 0.3mp laptop cams look very poor in comparison. Picture is clear and smooth. Built in microphone makes Skype a joy to use as it picks up my voice very clearly and I can have a conversation at normal levels rather than shouting into the mic. Software is very reliable, another winner from Logitech.
Great webcam and cheaper than the older model 2010-09-03 I bought this for my girlfriend so that she can Skype family who live abroad. After searching the internet I came across this one. I am very impressed with the "HD" quality that this webcam produces. It has been a few years since I've used a webcam but this quality is as good as a standard camcorder. absolutely no lag or pixelation whatsoever. Whats also very surprising is that this is the latest model in the range, yet cheaper than its predeccessor. I would recommend anyone looking for a great quality webcam for making any kind of video chat or just to make your own recodrings for Youtube etc
Works well and gives excellent quality 2010-09-02 It may look a bit different to other webcams but it performs well. Picture and sound quality are excellent and setup is easy from the CDROM supplied. The auto focus is useful cutting out all the fiddling around having to re-focus on most webcams. No lense cap but a simple turn of the camera body will point it to the ceiling. The USB cable supplied could do with being a little bit longer as on a previous Logitech Quickcam Pro I had for about 8 years.
